Vietnam - Street food at its best!

Vietnam’s street food is loud, fast and packed with flavour. From early morning until long after dark, the streets are buzzing with woks clattering, beers clinking and the constant hum of scooters weaving past food carts.

Up in Hanoi, mornings kick off with pho, alight fragrant noodle soup made with slow-cooked beef or chicken broth, fresh herbs and lime. It’s comforting, clean and full of depth. By lunchtime it’s all about bún cha, a smoky grilled pork served over cold rice noodles with loads of fresh herbs and a sharp tangy dipping sauce (Nuoc Cham). It’s messy, satisfying and best eaten perched on a tiny plastic stool with a cold beer in hand.

Further south in Hue, the royal city serves up refined little bites like bánh bèo, soft steamed rice cakes topped with dried shrimp, crispy shallots and a splash of fish sauce. The city of Da Nang brings heat and crunch with mì Quang, a bowl of turmeric-yellow noodles, tender pork, prawns, peanuts, crunchy rice crackers and just enough broth to bring it all together.

When night falls, Ho Chi Minh City turns the volume up. Neon-lit markets and street corners buzz with action inviting you to grab a grilled bánh tráng nuong, a grilled rice paper topped with egg, dried shrimp and spring onions. To finish it all off a delicious sticky rice with coconut milk and mung bean paste. Sweet, chewy and totally comforting usually eaten standing up while it is still warm in the hand.

Across the country, street food is built on balance between sweet, salty, sour, and spicy, all pulled together with a hit of umami and a fistful of fresh herbs. It’s bold, unforgettable and full of flavour!

Foodservice Product of the Year!

We’ve got some exciting news to share. Last week we took home three wins at the Quality Food Awards. Our Sri Lankan Coconut Chicken Curry won Gold in the Ready to Cook category and our Cuban Mango Mojo Pulled Pork won Gold in the Meat category along with the title of Foodservice Product of the Year.

These awards recognise the care that goes into every one of our products. Carefully cooked sauces, slow cooked meats and quality ingredients. No shortcuts, no nasties. Just full-on flavour designed to work hard in your kitchen.

Here is what caught the judges’ attention.

Sri Lankan Coconut Chicken Curry

Creamy coconut, rich spices and tender chicken and potato. The recipe was inspired by a home cooked meal made for us by a friend's Sri Lankan grandmother, and it still carries that warmth and depth. Aromatic, vibrant and packed with flavour.

Cuban Mango Mojo Pulled Pork

Premium pulled pork slow cooked with herbs, garlic and a bright mango twist. Our take on the classic Cuban Mojo Roast. Big flavour, soft texture and real versatility in the kitchen. No surprise it took home both Gold and Foodservice Product of the Year.

Chef’s Edition

Chef Thuy Pham

Born in a small village in southern Vietnam, Thuy’s earliest memories are filled with the tantalising aroma of simmering broths, fresh garden herbs and home cooking that was all about heart and soul. After moving to London as a child she held onto those flavours, with each dish creating a delicious link back to home. Today she’s the founder of The Little Viet Kitchen, author of two acclaimed cookbooks and one of the UK’s leading voices in Vietnamese cuisine.

Chef’s Edition

Now, Thuy has teamed up with The Street Food Company for the Chef’s Edition, creating two bold, ready-to-use sauces and pastes that capture the flavours she grew up with and make it easy for chefs to do them justice in a busy kitchen.

Rooted in family tradition but built for modern kitchens, these two products bring the real deal. From a zesty dipping sauce to a rich, fragrant paste, they’re all about balance, freshness, and unmistakable Vietnamese soul.
